Learning Curve

For some its days gone,
Nothing further to dwell on
For others a mere memory,
Something that’s now known to them as history

As I sit back and reminisce
Many memories that are so bliss
While others hurtful; I choose to dismiss
Here’s why 2012 wasn’t just an ordinary year for me

It’s amazing how we ignore life’s little pleasures,
And look for nothing but gigantic treasures.
One thing I’m walking forward with
Isn’t just hearsay or a generation myth,
But an understanding of true appreciation.
Many a time we are blind
By the kingdoms and empires we set in our mind.
Indeed it is right and just to have aspirations and dreams defined
But that shouldn’t confide us to assume and/or ignore the little angels along the path we may find.
I learned that along the path of life it is when we appreciate the little things
That we can truly enjoy and dance to the sweet music that our effort brings.

Over time I came to query education,
I was seeking to know its true translation.
Education is my true foundation
It is the uplifting medium of our generation.
Though powerful and our greatest gift, not all understand its true meaning
For some it’s their ticket to a luxurious life all convening
For others just a tag to their names for peers to fathom and never to demean.
But one thing we all need to ponder on
What is the true meaning of our education?
Best we grasp our hand around it before it’s too late and long gone
Use it as your tool as you climb the bridge and don’t forget in this game, you’re not the only pawn.
~Education is Knowledge. Knowledge is wisdom~

Beyond any foundation is family; the one aspect that keeps me ground,
We all go through trials and tribulations that leave us frowned
Constant feeling of muck or as if being drowned
But through ashes and clouds, family always comes around.
Each day I rise, I am grateful for my family that I am blessed with. I am grateful for each friend.
Because no man is an island
Neither can he choose or command
Without you I wouldn’t be who I am, I wouldn’t have a stand.

As I draw to a close
I walk away knowing:
To forgive is to let yourself learn and grow from a situation – Forgive when wronged but don’t forget the lesson learnt.
To smile is to share life with a stranger and add sunshine to the world -  A smile goes a long way.
Do things for your satisfaction not for the acknowledgement of the crowd.
Be yourself and appreciate where you are, because even those who are ahead have stories to tell.
Too many expectations of others is a platter of disappointments to you – even a jump rope has a limit
Education is a key but this key can unlock many doors. Be wise as your rise.
Family bonds grow stronger day by day – never forget to appreciate them while you still can.

Yesterday is the history I reminisce
Today is the life I chose to live
Tomorrow is the future I dream to see
I am captain of this flight.
